The BT-020 has been improved upon in all major criteria.

The Bridgestone BT-021 is the first tyre to use the Mono Spiral Belt construction which, combined with the perfect stiffness provided by the High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord, raises the levels of stability and shock absorption. The new tread design on the front tyre provides unsurpassed handling and steering precision and mileage tests show that the Bridgestone BT-021 is much more resistant to irregular wear than the BT-020. The rear tyre incorporates dual compound Straight and Cornering Technology tread construction which provides high cornering grip and solid traction and mileage.
